Just spent the last few days exploring Wakkanai City, Hokkaido. It's the northern most city and train station in Japan and a short drive from Cape Soya, the northernmost point in all of Japan. There are direct ferries to Sakhalin Island in Russia - in Russia's Far East.

While in Wakkanai, we did an amazing Kimono Experience, went snow shoeing in the Serobetsu Wetlands, drove through a coastal National Park, took part in a tea ceremony, went to an Onsen Village and ate loots and lots of delicious food - specialities from Hokkaido!
