How to enjoy Tokyo DisneySea as a family in one day in concurrence with the 35th Anniversary Celebration! In this video, I show our strategy of exploring DisneySea in one day to its fullest without feeling rushed. I also wanted to showcase how much kids would enjoy this park!

Do keep in mind that we went before the Japanese were on summer break so while the park was crowded, it wasn't during peak season. Also, two of the major rides were closed for the day (Tower of Terror and Journey to the Center of the Earth) BUT we did take a 2-3 hour break at our hotel and that time could have easily been used to ride them. If those rides were open, we would have grabbed fast passes a couple hours after our Toy Story Mania one, which was our only fast pass of the day. (Before/After the Park)

-Mickey Shuttle/Mickey Monorail: We took a free shuttle from our hotel to the monorail station to get to DisneySea. The monorail has a fee but you can buy a multi-day pass for a discount and get a super cute, special 35th Anniversary ticket!

(At the Park)

-Entry: The rotating globe greets you as you enter the park, as well as many Disney characters!
-Mediterranean Harbor: Where you can enjoy shows, including the 35th Anniversary one!

-Arabian Coast: All the rides/attractions had a waiting time of less than 10 minutes and kid friendly. The game we played cost 500 yen and if you win, you get a huge stuffed animal! Also, you can find the 35th Anniversary Churro here for 350 yen.

-Mermaid Lagoon: Like Arabian Coast, the waiting times for the rides were less than 10 minutes and kid friendly. Even the line to meet Ariel was only 20 minutes! I love this area because a lot of the rides were indoors, giving us a bit of a break from the sun.

-Lost River Delta: Stop by here for the savory smoked chicken leg! It costs 500 yen and it comes in the 35th Anniversary packaging! As for rides, we came back in the evening time and saw that the waiting time for Raging Spirits went all the way down to 5 minutes (as opposed to 60 minutes during the day). Definitely save this ride for later in your schedule (and you don't have to use up a fast pass!)

-American Waterfront: Fast passes for Toy Story Mania, in my opinion, is a must because lines never go below 70 minutes. American Waterfront is also where we did all our food and souvenir shopping later in the evening. Although not exclusive to this area, you can find the delicious Little Green Men dumplings for 360 yen.

-Port Discovery: We had dinner at Horizon Bay, which was mid-priced with about 2000 yen spent per person. The two rides here, SeaRider and Aquatopia, had almost no line in the evening.

Overall, I believe it's best to quickly grab fast passes for the biggest rides as soon as the park opens. These rides are Toy Story Mania, Tower of Terror, and Journey to the Center of the Earth. Then enjoy the Mermaid Lagoon/Arabian Coast side, which is usually pretty low-key and kids can enjoy almost all of the rides. This worked perfectly for us since my daughter still had energy and was able to nap easily after having all that fun :)) You also have plenty of time to enjoy a few shows in Mediterranean Harbor and meet Disney characters. Then when it's around evening time, head over to the Port Discovery/Lost River Delta area as the waiting times are most likely to have calmed down a bit.
