Tsukiji street food. No trip to Japan is complete without making a trip down the famed Tsukiji street food outer market. Oh! These octopus balls Takoyaki must be on your list.

Takoyaki たこ焼き literally means fried octopus. Very popular snacks rounded shaped dough balls dumpling. Takoyaki was one of my first things on my must-try lists during my culinary courses in Japan.

The restaurant name I’d tried was Gindaco which is located in Ginza Chuo, Tokyo Prefecture. They have many types from traditional, teriyaki sauce, cheese with Mentaiko mayo and many others. So I ordered 6 pieces and the price was 500 yen. However, the flavour was like a soft savoury pancake, crispy on the outside and soft from the inside filled with fresh octopus, vegetables served with sweet takoyaki sauce, mayonnaise topped with bonito flakes. The little balls are extremely hot. They are delicious! I ended up eating takoyaki every day...
