「Introduction of Gosen City」

Gosen City is a city with a population of about 48,000 and an area of 351.9 square kilometers, located in the center of Niigata Prefecture and southeast of Niigata City. In 2006, two neighboring municipalities (former Gosen City and former Muramatsu Town) merged to form New Gosen City.

Blessed with high quality and abundant water resources, it has long been known as a production center of silk fabrics, and the knit industry, which has seen remarkable development after the war, has become a nationwide production center.
Reiwa's Big Festival was offered with a silk cloth woven from Gosen, one of the gods' clothes (Kamumiso). Furthermore, Gosen City brand taro potato "Kinuotome" was also offered.

In addition, among the blessings of nature such as mountain purple water, lush mountains, clear rivers, and fertile ground, eminent peonies, tulip, chestnut and ginkgo, taro potato, cultured carp and there are many special products.

Gosen city is known as a town of flowers.
Mizubasho of Koya which blooms with the thaw, Cherry blossoms at Muramatsu Park, one of the top 100 cherry blossom spots in Japan, and equinox cherry blossoms at Oyamada, a nationally designated natural monument. 1.5 million tulips are in full bloom, and as if there are carpet of flowers. Many tourists visit such as the peonies Hundred Kinds Exhibition Park, which boasts 120 varieties.
